Prophetic. I Stand Corrected!

Remember when we were all making fun of this lady (at least, I was, and I'm not afraid to admit it):

"I won't have to worry about.. paying my mortgage... If I help him, he's gonna help me."

Hah - you silly fool.   Obama isn't gonna pay your mortgage! That's crazy... wait.. hold on... what?   The Government IS helping people pay their mortgages?  Touche!  That lady was an early-recession Nostradamus.

She never said anything about the gov't paying for her gas or mortgage. She said she wouldn't have to worry about paying for those things, the meaning of which is open to interpretation. Mine was that she was optimistic about Obama being able to improve the economy, which could entail better employment, educational opportunities, lower gas prices. It's not a ridiculous idea. Hence helping him with a vote would help her own economic prospects. A lot of people felt this way about Clinton, and saw their prospects dwindle under Bush. The title "Obama is going to pay for my gas..." reads as if it's a quote, but it's not. It's a revelation of the poster's interpretation.

Anon @4:52, well if she thought that then she is an idiot. I think we all prefer the far more likely interpretation that she was smart enough was voting for someone who would be inclined to bail her out in order to buy her vote.
